Wordpress Developer: Help us build a engaging and game-ified LMS

Wall Street Prep is looking for a Wordpress developer to assist the Chief Product Officer and Lead Engineer on the ongoing development of new features for its online course platform.

The ideal candidate is someone who is actively working in the WordPress realm, who is knowledgeable about the most recent WordPress releases and coding standards and is passionate about the benefits of using WordPress as a full-featured CMS.

Please note: This is not a position for someone just learning how to develop in WordPress. Experienced programmers who can send several examples of stellar code only. This is a 6-month contract position with an opportunity to transition to full time after 3 months.

The perfect candidate meets these criteria:

• Expert knowledge of WordPress, PHP, MySQL, HTML and jQuery
• Intimate understanding of Wordpress theme architecture, functions, hooks, custom post types
• Expert at developing using WordPress standards
• Experience creating custom WordPress plugins
• Working knowledge of CSS and "just-enough-to-be-dangerous" visual design skills
• Works well independently and with other developers
• Experience drafting functional specifications
• Writes efficient and well-documented code
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit

Job duties will include:

• Developing WordPress plugins and custom functionality
• Developing and maintaining WordPress-based applications
• Working closely with internal team to understand and formulate solutions to client needs
• A variety of other tasks involved in the development life cycle from start to finish
