Helio Technology is a registered member of the Consumer Technology Association and a Calgary based product design firm. We are a quickly growing company with a number of exciting breakthrough products on the horizon in the fields of virtual reality, augmented reality, human interface and positioning. Building on earlier successes in recent R&D projects we are poised to make a huge impact in the consumer electronics industry as we commercialize those technologies and bring them to market.
We are looking for a professional and motivated person to join our growing company as a Mobile Software Developer. This is a full-time position with health and dental benefits. The successful applicant will be assigned to an exciting cutting-edge project working on a completely new technology not in the market today.
General Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate on a multi-disciplined engineering and design team helping to create new and innovative products.
- Work with fellow team members to design and develop software solutions across a range of platforms, architectures and programming languages.
- Advise management on project planning and scheduling pertaining to software development matters.
- Perform cost/benefit analyses on feature inclusion/exclusion.
- Participate as needed in project presentations to executive staff and investors.
- Work with manufacturing partners to meet project requirements and deadlines.
Skills & requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience in software development.
- Proficiency with Java.
- Previous experience developing for Android including UI/UX design.
- Experience with git and version control methodologies.
- Eligibility and willingness to travel periodically.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.
- 1+ years of similar work experience.
