Sr. Software Engineer / Developer

As one of the senior developers, you will help provide technical direction and leadership for the team.  You will be expected to mentor less experienced developers, and will have a major voice in the shape and direction of our development practices.

This position will demand a high degree of intellectual curiosity. We are a startup so we are inventing as we go along.

We will need you to:

• Help build out and recruit the rest of the development team
• Take responsibility to work closely with business leads to capture vision and develop technical direction and requirements
• Work with the project team to define functional requirements and estimate completion times
• Schedule, delegate, and participate in the implementation, debugging, documentation, and maintenance of the code.
• Develop code, including the following aspects of code development: architecture, implementation, debugging, documentation, and maintenance.
• Track the development of code; verify that programming tasks are completed on time and meet the requirement. Take responsibility for the successful completion of code-related tasks.

Required Skills and Experience

• 8-10+ years of experience in software engineering (Agile Preferred)
• Experience working in Payments
• Experience working with high levels of security incorporated into projects (PCI / SAS70 / and other certifications)
• Strong background in all aspects of software development lifecycle, including project management
• 3-5+ years of experience developing N-tier platforms / web applications / web services
• 3-5+ years of experience in database design and database programming
• 3+ years of experience leading a development team definitely a bonus

Required Education

• Bachelors in computer science or related field OR equivalent experience required
• MS in appropriate field preferred
