Social Superstore has an opportunity for a talented Android developer to join the dynamic and fast paced startup. Social Superstore continually invests in the development of its world class engineering team, allowing time to trial new tech and also attend and speak at conferences.
You will be working with a highly skilled team of engineers from different disciplines and have the scope to utilise cutting edge technologies. The mobile development team consists of 5 developers, working on Android, iOS and a node middleware that abstract the main services. The position has scope to learn and work with other technologies and languages that are used on the Social Superstore platform.
The company currently employs around 20 people and is growing rapidly. It is a place where individuals can really make a difference. The company has a generous bonus structure that allows employees to earn further equity each year of employment.
Skills & requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software development and a strong command of object oriented principles/programming
- Minimum of 2 years experience coding to create native Android applications
- Contributed to at least one published Android application
- Demonstrated strengths in Java and the Android SDK
- Good understanding of secure coding practices
- Understanding of the technologies and languages, which power the web such as HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript.
- Understanding of how to integrate mobile applications with REST services
- Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum and KanBan
- Experience of creating multilingual applications
- Confident with IDEs suitable for Android development
- Understanding of the iOS platform is an advantage

Social Superstore integrates into existing social networks but is also a social network in it's own right. When users successfully promote products to their friends and followers they are rewarded with cash and gift cards. Shoppers are also rewarded for their own purchases.
