Skills:
- Primary requirement is a strong CSS knowledge and experience with styling responsive HTML web sites, web applications, and email documents. This assumes a deep understanding of HTML, browser capabilities and limitations, desktop vs mobile environments, and mouse vs touch vs both capable devices.
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
- Majority of development will involve use of LESS or SASS.
- Knowledge and experience with using source control packages, package managers, and automation tools is preferred.
- Basic PHP and Javascript programming experience. Ability to alter existing code, and create basic functionally where applicable.
- Ability and experience in creating reusable and well-documented code.
- Technical understanding of the browser page load process, how to analyze it, problem detection, and finding solutions to improve performance and user experience.
- Development environment is LAMP based; therefore, an understanding of Apache, MySQL, Unix-based host platforms, and development systems (MacOS) is preferred.
- Experience setting up and configuring WordPress and/or other CMS platforms such as Joomla. Understanding theme, plugin/extension/module, post/article/page concepts. Capable of taking a basic design, finding a theme, plugin/extensions, adding and custom styling/code/configuration to resemble that design.
- Most projects are created and developed in teams. Ability to communicate and contribute ideas/solutions to achieving the client goals is expected.
- Ability to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for extracting assets and other design information necessary for building CSS styles.
- Must be security, performance, and user experience focused with a proactive desire to learn.
Roles will include:
- Styling new and existing web sites, web applications, and other HTML projects.
- Applying styling to existing website content.
- Working with the team in the planning, implementation, and deployment phases of a project.
- Creation from scratch of HTML emails from design or wireframes.
- Creation from scratch of static HTML microsites and websites from design or wireframes.
- Troubleshooting and testing of web sites, web applications, and emails.
- Perform maintenance and updates on client assets and other infrastructure.
- Research/find/test existing solutions.
- Contribute to the improvement of company processes, technical solutions, and standards.
