Systems Administrator wanted for a start-up that's making waves!

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated systems administrator with a start-up attitude to work with our developers to improve the performance of our applications.

The role will involve the following:

• Managing large data sets
• Maintaining and updating servers
• Improving deployment through tools like Puppet
• Working with developers to improve the performance of applications

This role will require someone who cleverly possesses the following skills:

• Experience with web technologies and software, in particular Apache, PHP/Python and MySQL
• Demonstrable working knowledge of Linux (ideally RedHat / Fedora / CentOS) including configuration, package management, service maintenance and monitoring, shell scripting and security considerations
• Experience with internet technologies, protocols and concepts e.g. TCP/IP DNS and SSL, firewalling and loadbalancing, as well as networking in general
• Experience with Virtualization or cloud exposure is a big plus
• SQL database administration experience preferred
• Exposure to NoSQL, Solr and servlet container would be ideal
