Propellr is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in the Flatiron neighborhood of NYC. The ideal candidate should have an excellent working knowledge of Python and 3+ years prior experience building and architecting API’s with relational databases. What you will be doing
- Refactoring our Flask API to service increasingly complex financial transactions.
- Integrating our API with 3rd party Financial API’s that often have little or no documentation. Persistence and organization a must!
- Working closely with our Angular Engineers to deliver the data it needs to create views fast. Often this takes a lot of conversation and the ability to make concessions for the greater good.
- Improving our caching layer.
What you need to have
- CS Degree or 5+ years Engineering experience
- 3+ years Python experience
- 3+ Years developing RESTful API’s / Web Services with Postgres / SQL Alchemy or similar
- A working understanding of the Flask framework, nginx, and uwsgi
- Prior experience architecting flexible, scalable API’s
- Task Runners like Celery/Cron
- Ansible
Nice to haves
- AWS, specifically EC2, EB, RDS, S3 and an understanding of IAM/security/roles
- Experience using CI/CD tools like Travis, Circle and Jenkins
- Prior experience building and deploying projects with Docker
- Experience implementing API caching
- Experience integrating with Angular/ React
- Build tools like Webpack, Gulp or Grunt
- Amazon Kinesis
- Experience with newer Web API tools like GraphQL and Relay
- Ability to revive a window full of dying succulents
