Junior Data Scientist / Junior Developer (1-year contract)

We are seeking a Data Scientist / Developer to work in our Product Development Team. In this role you’ll be involved in cutting edge work helping to develop data analytics solutions for project runs by Data Pi. You will collaborate with our partners to rapidly develop prototypes and to turn these solutions into commercial deployable applications. We are seeking candidates with at least 1 year professional Python development experience gained in a customer facing production development environment.

You will work with large volumes of data to derive insights and to turn these insights to business applications. Previous experience of developing applications is highly desirable. We can offer remote and flexi-working arrangements if preferred. Contract is extendable depending on performance and business requirements.

Essential skills:

• Experience in using Python for data analytics
• A good practical knowledge of building data feeds
• Solid coding abilities
• Comfortable working on projects involving web interfaces, big data analytics, machine learning, API programming and scripting
• Ability to work under high stress environment with rapid turnaround time
• Good working knowledge of SAP is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Taking concept ideas and building out designs and functional specifications
• Working with the wider team and partners to design and implement solutions
• Managing a full development lifecycle with a secure approach throughout
• Owning and working on agile, exciting, greenfield projects related to enterprise supply chain and procurement data
