About the job As the founding engineer, you will be at the core of the MyCourthouse team. You'll work directly with Max, our CTO, to manage, improve, and extend the MyCourthouse platform, as well as play key roles in product strategy, hiring, and developing our engineering culture. About you You have a 'get it done' mentality and a passion for well-documented code that is simple, extensible, and robust. You thrive in a 'scrappy start-up' culture and can switch from back-end engineer, to systems architect, to customer service rep with ease. You'll do whatever it takes to make MyCourthouse the best damn platform the world has ever seen, whether that means researching new technologies, managing an off-shore team, fixing user interface bugs, or responding to user feedback, nothing will stop you. Skills & requirements
We believe that great engineers can do anything, and want to learn as much as possible. Therefore we don't have specific language or skill requirements, but you can get bonus points for:
- early-stage startup experience - proficiency in dynamic server-side languages - knowledge of web application internals / performance and scaling issues - experience coding & optimizing SQL queries and working with MVC PHP frameworks

MyCourthouse is a communication & collaboration platform for Law Schools. We provide law students with intuitive tools that make managing law school easy. Students use the platform to communicate with each other, manage their organizations, and get the word out about events. See our 1-minute animated explainer for more info.
