Are you excited about building the best software platform for graph-based machine learning and data analysis? Excited about working on an open-source project with a growing community? Want to tackle large scale data visualization challenges while designing elegant and beautiful user experiences? Want to tame presenting complex machine learning, data science, and data analysis pipelines and make them approachable?
GraphLab is looking for talented, motivated, and articulate software engineers to build out our core engineering team. We are defining, designing, and building our v1 product. Our software engineers design, develop, test, deploy, and operate our software in an agile and highly collaborative environment.
Our team is highly skilled (check out repositories on Github), highly caffeinated (yay espresso machine), highly scientifically nerdy (let's chat about espresso, bitters, C++11, anime, movies, vim vs emacs, mechanical keyboards, baking, standing desks, basketball, brewing beer, fantasy football, cross-fit, bicycling, etc), and highly motivated (our excitement can be measured by the decibels generated with typing fury). Skills & requirements
* 4+ years of software development, Bachelors in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent industry work experience.
* Experience with production systems (able to build full-stack applications from JS/HTML/CSS to modern data stores).
* Fluency with modern web technologies and toolkits (HTML5, CSS3, JS, d3.js, 1+ MVC web frameworks)
* Comfortable designing, developing, and testing in a modern web programming language (Python, Ruby, Go, Scala, Javascript).
* Comfortable with operating system concepts (networking, threading, interprocess communication).
* Experience working with interdisciplinary UX team to build great customer experiences on web, desktop, tablet or mobile
* A passion for data.
This is a full-time position in Seattle (with relocation offered, but no telecommuting). At GraphLab Inc, we are building a platform for distributed machine learning that dramatically simplifies the process of large-scale graph computation, enabling real-time systems for: recommendations, fraud detection, security, advertising, and more.
GraphLab, at a high-level, is like Hadoop (Map/Reduce) but for graphs, and the current implementation is 100x faster than comparable solutions, making it possible for small clusters to process in seconds what entire data centers process in hours. This platform is based on the successful research project (http://graphlab.org) with the same team that started the project. The open-source project has been warmly received and evaluated at places like Netflix, Pandora, and Walmart Labs.
