“We’re looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps Platform Engineer to help build a self-service infrastructure platform to increase the developer experience and to provide the backbone for our applications and services helping millions of users discover new ideas. The ideal engineer will bring their experiences, best practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive DevOps initiatives. To be successful, one must effectively communicate with our development and engineering teams to orchestrate the creation of solutions that can scale and teach them how to use the platform.”

What You'll Do

• Manage, scale and optimize our AWS cloud infrastructure
• Drive and implement automation and observability wherever possible to ensure a resilient, self-tuning setup
• Implement Everything-as-Code including infrastructure testing, security and compliance to increase the quality and to deploy faster into production
• Curate reliable CI/CD pipelines to allow our developers to build and deploy features efficiently
• Transform the existing infrastructure into a self-service platform for developers and data engineers to reduce manual interactions between teams
• Educate and enable the developers across the company and provide them with the tools to use the platform autonomously and safely
• Identify and proactively address challenges on the infrastructure platform and continuously apply DevOps best practices
• As an empowered Engineer, take ownership of the infrastructure platform and be accountable for your decisions
• Engage in and foster a culture focused on innovation, mentorship and career growth

Why You

• Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure at scale
• A drive towards automating repetitive tasks
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Go, Python, Ruby, Node, etc.
• Practical experience with Docker containerization and clustering (e.g. AWS ECS)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies like Terraform or CloudFormation
• Operational experience with database management such as MongoDB, AWS Redshift, Postgres, etc.
• Experience with monitoring and logging such as Prometheus, DataDog, or ELK stack
• Expertise with AWS (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, R53, Autoscaling, Lambd)
• Experience with CI/CD best practices and systems such as CircleCI, Github Actions, or Jenkins
• Strong and clear communication and documentation skills
• A constant will to learn and grow, and to share knowledge with others
• Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced understanding of different programming paradigms, clean code, high-quality tests, security as well as performance-related topics
