We are looking for a (Senior) Backend Software Engineer (Golang) - Rider Transmission, Logistics (f/m/d)​ to join our Logistics team to help us create a fast, reliable and transparent delivery experience. You will be helping our riders working across 40+ countries to get a stable and useful application which will make their work easier and connect riders to millions of customers every day. The Rider Transmission tribe in Logistics owns the riders' journey and experience from onboarding, planning their work hours, making deliveries and finally, getting paid for their hard work! We enable this by building tools for operations managers and of course, the rider app itself which drives the whole experience and provides transparency at all times.

Your mission:

• Write elegant code, decoupled and modularized services that will power up features on our rider app

• Champion the spirit of innovation and collaboration both within the engineering team and across the organization

• You implement impactful and sustainable solutions to complex problems by taking bold and measured risks

• Complement your technical excellence with high emotional intelligence, awareness, and responsibility

• Share the knowledge you gain proactively and generously with your team members, fostering a culture of engineering excellence

• Mentor and support your colleagues whenever possible

• You will work on a cross functional team and you will be expected to perform code reviews in projects of multiple programming languages

• You will also write & run all sorts of test automation scenarios to proof the services are scalable

Your heroic skills:

• At least 5 years of experience in software development and at least 2 years of experience with Golang

• A degree in the field of computer sciences, software engineering or comparable and a structured thinking and quick learning ability

• You’ve built complex, high-quality applications, and have a strong knowledge of Domain Driven Design and microservices architecture with kubernetes

• Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices

• Strong attention to details and knowing how to compromise on good design vs. pragmatism decisions

• Ability to make independent decisions and take ownership for them beyond deployment

• You have a strong knowledge in relational databases (ACID, isolation & index types, storage engines) and also in non-relational (DynamoDB, Redis)

• You are familiar with common monitoring / alerting / logging tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, distributed tracing, Grafana

Nice to have:

• Ability to estimate realistic time/complexity required to execute tasks and deliver them in time

• You are passionate about creating world-class products to inspire people. You are thrilled to have an impact

• Professional experience of cloud platform hosting via AWS / GCP as well via terraform / cloudformation / helm
