Due to the continued interest in our products and services, IRIS Technology (http://iris-technology.co.uk) is recruiting for multiple developer positions with our Web Development team.
**Overview**
* Position is telecommuting. Occasional business travel will be required.
* Our main office is based in Lancaster, if you'd prefer to work there.
* We are looking for a passionate individual to join our Web Development team.
* You will be developing software and services in the logistics/telematics/tracking industry.
* This means you get to tinker around with all kinds of interesting physical tracking hardware via SMS/GSM/WiFi!
**Package**
* Salary commensurate with experience in the range £22k to £28k
* Company contributory company pension scheme.
* Complimentary health insurance benefits.
* 22 days holiday per annum increasing to 27 days with service plus 8 statutory days.
**About IRIS Technology**
* IRIS is a leading electronics and telematics company.
* We're a small company of 7 employees.
* We build our own hardware from the ground up, not many people do this!
**Responsibilities**
* Maintain and help drive development of current Ruby products/services.
* Develop new product/tools based on customer requirements.
* Develop front-end UI's and back-end services to power them.
* Vehicle/Asset tracking related project development.
**Requirements (must have)**
* Ruby (or skilled with other dynamic languages, python, etc.)
* HTML & CSS.
* Javascript & frameworks like jQuery.
* SQL
* Source control using Git
* Good problem solving and debugging skills.
* Ability to travel if required.
* Ability to work within a small team environment.
**Optional Requirements (nice to have)**
* Linux system administration.
* Experience in the telematics and/or logistics industry.
* UI design
* C/C++
* PHP
* Embedded systems development.
