I applied SVD to a CV_32FC1 cvMat and modified some values in the 'u' component. Now I am trying to multiply the 'u, 'w' and 'vt' components to get a single matrix A. But OpenCV fails to multiply the matrices with the following error.

When I inspected the types of the matrices in the SVD object, they seem to have type = 20, which doesn't match any of the default matrix types.

Well, that would be a clue: it's not that you're modifying the elements. I don't know much about the routine you're calling to get the SVD, but I find it disturbing that you're calling SVD temp(dst, 5); inside a loop, and assigning the result to svd[i], after which temp is allowed to go out of scope. Does the copy to svd[i] do a deep copy? – DRVic Apr 10 '12 at 18:18
I removed temp and initialized the svd directly but the problem persists. – blacktooth Apr 10 '12 at 18:34
I'm running wit hsame issue. Looks like openCV does not create full u, s, v matrixes to save memory. I trying to use flag SVD::FULL_UV but in that case SVD is failing with std::bad_alloc error. – Dmitry Masley Jul 20 '14 at 19:03
