I am having a bit of trouble with my access database regarding date stamps. Within my database there are four tables:

  1. all users
  2. approved users
  3. pending users
  4. approved providers

When users are entered into the database they are all saved in the allusers table. a filter is then applied comparing the users email provider to the list of approved providers. if the address is approved it is then displayed in the approved users table, and if not it appears in the pending users table.

Each user has a date stamp with is automatically generated. the problem is when a user is approved and is transferred to the approved users the date stamp is still the original time leading to the majority of the users being lost in the long list of approved users. is there anyway of updating the date stamp so that the approved users are listed according to date approved?

its two tables and two query tables. i have researched the update query but all i seem to see is hot to update if im editing a record where in fact i am only editing the approved providers table which then edits the results in the query's. im not sure if this is actually possible as no record is individually being edited. –  Stephen Rafferty Apr 13 '12 at 9:03
when i say query table i mean where i run a query, in this case to compare the provider to the list of approved providers , and the it displays the results. –  Stephen Rafferty Apr 13 '12 at 9:09
If an approved date is important to you, you need a field (column) for that date. –  Fionnuala Apr 13 '12 at 10:24
