So I'm building a multithreaded socket library in windows and I'm getting the WSA Not Started error when I call recv, even though I successfully get a client to connect to the server. I also had it working before I threaded it, but I don't know what happened since then. Any help would be appreciated.

That's a good amount of code for SO. Can you confirm that WSAStartup was called in the server-side code ? It should show Initializing socket... and not be followed by an error. –  ixe013 Apr 14 '12 at 1:48
    
Yes it does. The server creates the object, binds, listens and accepts a connection from the client, and then the recv loop errors with 10093 and ends the connection. Sorry about all the code btw, didn't know how to ask for help with a section of code since I don't know what the source of the WSA failing is. –  bitwiser Apr 14 '12 at 2:03

I beleive you must keep the "original" socket alive. Move listenSock.close(); after the sessionSock->recv_data() loop.
