I have a project I am working on which allows me to create a template and input data. One thing that is not working is that the table is not dynamically updating. It only refreshes once I have close the application and run it again. Is there a similar method as UpdateUI where it updates in front of you without having to exit the app and reopen it again to see the change? I have the code below, could someone point out what code and where i would put it in the class? Thank you.

Where is your updating code (I might have overlooked it in that gigantic piece of code you posted) ? Or are you expecting that the table magically updates if anything changes in the database ? –  Robin Apr 19 '12 at 6:14

You should use TableModel. Checkout How to Use Tables. Then fireTableDataChanged() (or another approptiate fire* method) will notify your table about changes.

Maybe Using JDBC with GUI API can be helpful. It demonstrates very basic integration of JDBC and JTable.

-1 for calling a fireXX from outside of the model: it's the model itself which must notify its listeners on changes, +1 for the rest so zero in sum :-) –  kleopatra Apr 19 '12 at 8:58
    
@kleopatra the idea is that the model notifies its listeners. There is no intent to call fireTableDataChanged outside of the model. It is just the name of the method - TableModel.fireTableDataChanged(). –  Aqua Apr 19 '12 at 15:42
