I have the following code and I am trying to get this working, I got the below code from the link over here

so my sqltab.txt file looks like this

and i am gettings the following error as i gather it is authentication error. so how do and where do i pass the parameters of the sa account and its password?

you could try passing a ServerConnection object when you create the SMO connection (around line 60) in your code

$mySrvConn = new-object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Common.ServerConnection
$mySrvConn.ServerInstance=$srvname
$mySrvConn.LoginSecure = $false
$mySrvConn.Login = "username"
$mySrvConn.Password = "password"

If you want to shorten the 70 lines of if/elseif code used to check the $version a little (making it a little easier to understand) you can cut it down to 28 by using a switch statement.

You can do it just like this:

Switch statement makes it a littler easier to see what you are checking for. You might change all your long if/else statements to switch, it will lesson the length and make it a little bit more maintainable.
