I do have a problem with embedded matplotlib in PySide. When I try to select an object on the window it looks that I can only select the subplot because I do get the error

AttributeError: 'AxesSubplot' object has no attribute 'get_xdata'

When I try to capture the instance of a Line2D class on the canvas in the line

if isinstance(event.artist, Line2D)

I only can capture the AxesSubplot object, not the Line2D (nor the rectangle,nor the text)

Appreciate any assistance, Richard

So patches can't be picked! The follwoing code works fine to me.

Can you clarify the statement: "When I try to capture the instance type shown below, no if is True." Do you still get this error with the above code as it is typed? –  Yann Apr 24 '12 at 19:43
