I have one large Excel workbook with multiple worksheets containing pivot tables linked to a big PowerPivot source. I want to save each worksheet separately into workbooks, only as values.

I have managed to do this on a workbook without pivot tables. But I get the following message with this project. I don't want to copy the embedded data for each save as it is crazy slow. Any hints or help?

Instead of doing a "copy" and "paste values", why not directly save it as a csv? –  Siddharth Rout Apr 30 '12 at 3:11

One more option, save it temporarily as csv and immediately after saving it as xlsx, delete the csv? –  Siddharth Rout Apr 30 '12 at 3:31

Thank you for the effort. However this isn't really optimal. once you run ws.copy, my entire 20mb pivot table source is temp-copied over, which takes a really long time. i think i'm going to explore a strategy of creating a new sheet within the original notebook, copying into that sheet, changing to values+format only and then moving it to a new workbook. –  Julien May 3 '12 at 6:59
