I've read around to see what this error means. I understand now what it its telling me, but it literally makes no sense as I'm passing it a list. The lists are of the right depth to which I am trying to index them. It would really help if I had someone more experienced show me what is going wrong.

I've looked over it a lot and I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. The api I'm using is panda3d.

xcel is a two-dimensional list. The correct syntax to access the jth element of the ith sub-list is

xcel[i][j]   # not xcel[i[j]]!

Currently, you're attempting to get the jth element of the integer i, which leads to the error you're encountering. Same goes for velocities and positions.

because i is an integer

for i in range(len(models)):

that makes a loop for values of i between 0 and a less than the length of models

I am not sure what your intended purpose is, but you cant access an array element, as is happening on the next 2 lines of an integer with i[j]. Did you perhaps mean

for i in range(len(models)):
    for j in range(3):
        a = xcel[models[j]]*0.5*dt*dt
        v = velocities[models[j]]*dt

note i[j] is now models[j]
