I have been attempting to learn C. Coming from a web design background with experience in HTML, CSS, and creating custom themes in Wordpress, I wanted to give programming a shot. I have a friend helping me out, and his latest task for me was a tic-tac toe game. Below is the code I have so far. I am currently having trouble making the game loop between player 1 and 2, and making the game recognize if the game is 0 incomplete, 1 p1 wins, 2 p2 wins, or 3 cats game.

In your main program, your loop is:

int player = 0; 

while (1)
{ 
    printBoard(gameBoard);
    printf("Player %d: ", player + 1); 
    scanf(" %c%d", &column, &row ); 
    player -= player;
}

This sets player to 0, then 0 again (because 0 - 0 is 0), and ... so on. If you need to oscillate between 0 and 1, there are several way ways to do that, including at least:

player = !player;
player = 1 - player;

You also need to put most of the move code which is above this loop inside a function that's called within the loop.
