I am using play framework 2.0 for a simple application that returns a list of employees in json string from a MySQL Database. My controller is as follows

I start bench marking the play application in production mode using apache benchmarking on my macbook with about 1500 MB max heap size.

A couple of things I notice is that increasing the concurrency of request increase the average response time and for higher concurrency rate.

ab -n 100 -c 10 http://localhost:9000/api/employees/

I get the following error

[error] play - Waiting for a promise, but got an error: null
java.lang.RuntimeException: null

My Akka specific configuration are.
