I'm having some hard time building my own period class, i know that there are some already made classes out there but due to internal restrictions i will have to implement my own. The constructor (code below) basically accepts 2 dates, a start and an end, the method makeWeeks(), will devide this period into weeks, i developed this according to the "head-tail" principle that i learned when i was studying lists.

heres the code (the essentials)

I'm afraid there is something wrong, this works fine in most cases but in some cases, (like November and December 2011) the second week is not collected, and in March 2012 the last week is not collected if you set as endDate 31/Mar/2012 but it is if you select as end 30/Mar/2012. Do you have any advice?

What "internal restrictions" are stopping you using another library? Calendar logic is some of the most complicated, nontrivial code probably in existence, as demonstrated by things like stackoverflow.com/questions/6841333/… . –  Louis Wasserman May 30 '12 at 9:43
    
I need to implement my own, as this will serve as core class for other extensions, furthermore, this needs to fit into a particular architecture which demands a certain code implementation, i cant use other time-containers –  JBoy May 30 '12 at 9:45

...Even so, I would consider "bug-free calendar logic" to be a task requiring several months' work by at least a dozen Jon Skeet-caliber experts; I'd do almost anything to avoid it. –  Louis Wasserman May 30 '12 at 9:52

You may not be able to use external libraries, but there shouldn't be anything stopping you copying the ideas, design and/or source code of external libraries (or the portion you need) Some libraries take the entire source of another library e.g. org.apache and rename the package e.g. com.sun.org.apache (this is in the JVM) and now its an internal library, without having to write any new code. –  Peter Lawrey May 30 '12 at 11:25
