# Javascript math calculations in an estimate form

I'm working on creating an app to estimate jobs for screen printing and I'm stuck at the moment. Here is the form so far http://www.redfivedesigns.com/mprintsapp/index2.html. First of all, what I need to be able to do is to add Front Colors + Back Colors + Other Colors + Price and then multiply that total by Quantity and add that total to the rest of the fees. Also, I need help with how to add user defined price and quantity as text inputs.

Note: You are (ab)using arrays for no good reason when you should be using objects: `var front_prices = { None:0, One:.4, Two:1.15, ... };` –  Phrogz Jun 1 '12 at 19:45

When you extract elements from forms they are strings. You need to convert them to numbers to do the math. Use something like: `var numVal = parseFloat(formValue)`
