# Finding determinant of matrix using MapReduce

I have written a code for calculating the determinant of a 3x3 matrix in mapreduce.

The output of the reducer class gives the minor for each row element. Adding these minors will give the determinant. Hence I added a global variable `sum` to get it. However the variable `sum` always returns 0. The output of the reducer also contained zero.The variable 'result' of the minor functions isn't getting updated.Please take a look
