I want to send messages periodically through this program, the messages are broadcasted fine and I get a sendDone message. The problem is that these messages are not received well. I would really appreciate any help to find out where the problem is?

Here is the code(please ignore unused variables as I have cut a lot of the code):

You should look at what is the error value in the sendDone event. It is possible that send returns success, but the sending fail after that, and the error code is returned in the sendDone. These error includes ENOACK, ENOMEM, etc.

Also, check your destination address and the AM address of the receiver.

Hi @Kaifei, What happens if the packet although has been "sent" successfully by "call AMSend.send(AM_BROADCAST_ADDR, &packet, sizeof(radio_count_msg_t)) == SUCCESS" but the packet can't get out to the air by CC2420 ? How do I check this ? –  J Modi Sep 17 '13 at 19:47
@JModi You should be able to handle the event sendDone(message_t *msg, error_t error) in the same module where you call send(). Check the value of error, if it is SUCCESS, then it means your CC2420 sent it out and got ACK from the receiver. Sending message is done asynchronously like this in TinyOS. Thanks a lot. I actually found it out after asking it here. But anyways, thanks again. It helped me understand more. Is it possible to get your email address or something ? There are very few people here who answers about TinyOS. And on tinyos forums also,sometimes it's difficult to get answer. It's ok if you don't want to share.
