There are no errors in the actual file. The package name is com.embedstudios.candycat. The manifest has registered the activity perfectly. I am using and engine to build this game, after updating versions I have this problem. it is and engine GLES1.

I have a few activities right before it (splash screen/mainmenu). But after I click the play button on the main menu, it is supposed to go to this java file, and it crashes right away. –  Shrav Mehta Jun 13 '12 at 7:55

Well you have an object on line 53 in CandyLevel.javathat is nullthat you are trying to use anyway somehow. It says so right there in the error message:

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException 06-13 00:39:36.777: E/AndroidRuntime(8168): at com.embedstudios.candycat.CandyLevel.(CandyLevel.java:53)

Assuming that is your Display stuff. Try moving that (all three lines there with display) to your onCreate method instead.

Updated after new stack trace: Now you have your error on line 233 in your onLoadScene method:

java.lang.NullPointerException at 
    com.embedstudios.candycat.CandyLevel.onLoadScene(CandyLevel.java:233)

Candylevel.java is the file itself, so I don't get what you are saying. I just set the pixels manually now and I am posting the new trace. –  Shrav Mehta Jun 13 '12 at 8:04
    
I said "line 53" in that file. Meaning your init and use of the display variable. Move the init and use of that to the onCreate method. These: public final Display display = getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay(); public float PHONE_WIDTH = display.getWidth(); public float PHONE_HEIGHT = display.getHeight(); –  Mattias Jun 13 '12 at 8:09
    
Yes, I get that. But I just removed the need for using the unit of the display variable by just setting it manually. Therefore, removing any kinda of error related to it. I updated the question with the new log cat of the manually filled in pixels. –  Shrav Mehta Jun 13 '12 at 8:24

According to the stack trace this line causes NullPointerException:

public final Display display = getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay();

Try to initialize display in the onCreate() method.

I changed it for testing purposes and set the display manually to my phone's dimensions. It still crashes. –  Shrav Mehta Jun 13 '12 at 7:57

I just put the pixels in manually, so I didn't need to have anything in the onCreate. If I put the pixels manually in the onCreate it will create lots of errors for me. I am posting the new log cat in the edits. –  Shrav Mehta Jun 13 '12 at 8:03
