I need my JFrame to have a squared size. In the beginning my frame has same width and height, and i would like to stay that way even after I resized my window. I would really like to know what to write in the componentResized method.

Get the width and height of the JFrame after resizing using the getSize() method. Then pick one or perform some logical operations to get the size you want and the resize the JFrame to the new size using the JFrame's setSize(int width,int height) method. When you give the same value to width and height it will be square!
