I'm getting a segfault with the following code:

The log output goes something like:

The problem occurs consistently at value 159 for i for the for loop. However, the expected length of the array getting passed in to this function is a fixed 131072 elements (as reflected in the log). Why are values farther down the array inaccessible?

Maybe your environment doesn't deal well with so much memory allocated on stack. Because sizeof(tmp) == 1 Megabyte. Try allocating tmp on heap.

Actually, there already is an array of necessary size on heap! It's the result array. There is a very good chance that GetShortArrayElements(result) will return a direct pointer into that array, so there will be no memcpy penalty on ReleaseShortArrayElements(result) later. –  Alex Cohn Jun 20 '12 at 14:17
    
Eh? result is a Float arary, not a short array, and it is being newly created. I'm not sure what you are suggesting to do here, @AlexCohn –  sleepynate Jun 20 '12 at 18:34
