We have a pretty complicated code in Fortran 90. It has a lot of differential equations and handles large matrices and arrays of data. Over the years it has become quite convuluted and we need to do a lot of programming to include parameter estimation, MC analysis, etc. Debugging is a pain, and it's impossible to keep track of changes!
I have limited experience with Acslx writing a pharmacokinetics model and it worked well for that dynamic system. Now I wonder if it makes sense to port our large Fortran code with sometimes thousands of lines of input values into Aclsx? Our code runs in a probabilistic mode and for longer runs it can take days to complete a run. As I understand Acslx makes the code a lot more readable and gets rid of a lot of functions programming. My main concern is that the long runs may take even longer with Acslx. Should that be a concern? Any other pros and cons??
