I am trying to write some code to allow a user to draw a polygon on Google Maps and then calculate the area. For some reason however the markers and polygon doesn't display when I click on the screen. Could anyone help me with this. I'm adding the code:

This is how I managed to calculate the area of a polygon once drawn on the map, with metric and imperial units.

google.maps.event.addListener(drawingManager, 'polygoncomplete', function(polygon) {
        var polyPath = polygon.getPath();
        var measurement = google.maps.geometry.spherical.computeArea(polyPath);
        var squareMeters = measurement.toFixed(2);
        var squareFeet = (squareMeters * 10.7639).toFixed(2);

I happen to have this old demo which was made with the API version 2. You'd need to convert it to V3. Let me know if you have trouble with the conversion.
