I am having trouble with my mouse hovering over my menu. I am trying to highlight the various menu options when the mouse is over them but not sure what I am doing wrong. Right not it just cycles through them all very fast when I move the mouse over them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The problem is either in the update function or the measuremenu function. By the way I have the keyboard part working fine.

            }

That code makes selectedIndex one more if you are hovering over any of the rectangles. Which can explain the cycling through each one.

You need to check a rectangle for each menu item, and set selectedIndex appropriately.

pseudo-code:

for (int i = 0; i<= menuItems.Count;i++) { Rectangle rect = new Rectangle(position.X,position.Y + (i * heightOfMenuItemAndOffset),Width,Height);

Mouse.GetState(); Point mouseLocation = new Point(mouseState.X, mouseState.Y); if (area.Contains(mouseLocation) { selectedIndex = i; }

}

Something along the lines of that.

Ok, I understand what you are saying and it makes almost perfect sense to me. There is just one thing I don't understand or know how to get. How do I get the the height of my menu item and offset. I know how to get the height of the menu item but not sure how to get the offset. I see how to set and offset, but that is about it.
