I'm having a problem with in merging time and button together...

I can't get the button show in the JPanel.

This is my code:

Date_Time already extends JFrame, no need for another frame - frame1. Add the button to show_date_time panel and not to the frame. Don't use null layout. –  Aqua Jul 8 '12 at 6:15

As @nIcE cOw notes, your thread is incorrectly synchronized, and invokeLater() is a correct solution. Unfortunately, your thread also runs continuously, hampering performance. You should consider these alternatives:

  • Poor: Yield the processor in the loop:

    Thread.yield(); // prevent thread from starving
    
  • Better: Add a suitable delay after invokeLater() and catch InterruptedException:

    try {
        Thread.sleep(500);
    } catch (InterruptedException ex) {
        Logger.getLogger(Date_Time.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
    }
    
  • Best: Use javax.swing.Timer, as shown here.

Nice catch, LOL as I watched your answer, I realized what a big BLUNDER I did, I never thought of using a Timer in this situation :-) And the link you mentioned belongs to my favourite question/answer :-) –  nIcE cOw Jul 8 '12 at 16:14
