i am trying to use CCCrypt to encrypt my data , but something wrong with it, the data length changed after i encrypted, but didn't happen on the decrypt, here is the following code.

Padding has to be applied when you are using a block cipher, to make the plain text fit into the cipher blocks. AES is a block cipher, and uses a block size of 128 bits, 16 bytes. Try it with explicit padding and CBC mode in the CCOptions, see the Apple documentation of CCCrypt how to do that (although, again, I've seen better descriptions of cryptographic methods in my life).

[edit] Note: try kCCOptionPKCS7Padding, CBC is probably the default.

i tried KccOptionPKCS7Padding data size log is Before encrypt dataLength is 248 file encrypted dataLength is 256 After decrypt dataLength is 246 the data size is right but i can't open the file after decrypt –  Jeff Wang Jul 12 '12 at 5:08

I use CCCrypt function to DES encrypting something. When length of data to be encrypted is not multiple of 8 Byte, error size took place.

So I handle this as following:

- (NSString *) encryptUseDES:(NSString *)plainText key:(NSString *)key
    NSString *ciphertext = nil;
    const char *textBytes = [plainText UTF8String];
    NSUInteger dataLength = [plainText length];
    NSUInteger len1=dataLength % 8;

    unsigned char buffer[1024];
    memset(buffer, 0, sizeof(char));
    size_t numBytesEncrypted = 0;

    Byte iv[] = {0x02, 0x00, 0x01, 0x02, 0x00, 0x06, 0x00, 0x05};

    CCCryptorStatus cryptStatus = CCCrypt(kCCEncrypt, kCCAlgorithmDES,
                                          [key UTF8String], kCCKeySizeDES,
                                          textBytes, dataLength,
                                          buffer, 1024,

Then everything ok!
