I have 2 frames in a python script. Once the first one gets minimized, the second one shows. How do I get the original one to go from being minimized to restored after I close the second one.

Here is my code so far:

the_app.SetTopWindow(wxFrameObject)
wxFrameObject.Maximize()

might work ... thats what we use

what exactly are you refering to when you say "the_app". everything else makes sense –  Worm Jul 18 '12 at 4:09
    
the wx.App object ... this code is wrapped in a bunch of other stuff in our project so it may or maynot work standalone –  Joran Beasley Jul 18 '12 at 4:10
    
on a side note an IDE with code hinting might help for this type of problem also as it would inform you of Maximize being a method of wx.Frame (really wx.TopLevelWindow or someat) (I use eclipse)...also you may want to initialize the frame with the wx.STAY_ON_TOP style –  Joran Beasley Jul 18 '12 at 4:12

try adding wx.STAY_ON_TOP (but only for your top level window) to your styles... why is it being minimized? I dont see anything that is intentionally minimizing it? –  Joran Beasley Jul 18 '12 at 4:17

You should use myFrameObject.Raise() to make it come out of its minimized state. The wx.STAY_ON_TOP flag is for making the frame stay on top of all other frames when it's not minimized, but it won't do anything if you have minimized the frame.
