This is one class, I have not included all the other classes in my project. I need to initialize the method "public boolean action(Event e, Object arg)" but I don't know how to initialize methods that carry on arguments.

Applets DO NOT have a main() method.

You probably misunderstood the Applet class architecture/framework.

Read the tutorial - Lesson: Java Applets.

A Java applet is a special kind of Java program that a browser enabled with Java technology can download from the internet and run. An applet is typically embedded inside a web page and runs in the context of a browser. An applet must be a subclass of the java.applet.Applet class. The Applet class provides the standard interface between the applet and the browser environment.

To run/launch an applet:

  1. create .html document
  2. Add <applet code="finalpkg.SimplexTool" width="200" height="200"></applet> tag
  3. Open this html document in web-browser.

PS: In fact you can convert your program to GUI Application by extending JFrame.
