I try to draw the video from getusermedia into a plane in three.js. But the video is not drawn. When I deny the webcam access a picture is loaded and is drawn instead of the video. Loading and drawing the picture is no problem. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You need to add this to the render loop:

if ( video.readyState === video.HAVE_ENOUGH_DATA ) {

    if ( backgroundTexture ) backgroundTexture.needsUpdate = true;

}

I tried a similar thing recently and came up against this bug, which relates to the video size not being a power of two. (I think there were warnings in Chrome's console for me.) http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=100525

Maybe you're experienceing the same bug?

To get around it, I rendered the video to a canvas, and then used a canvas as the texture :

    canvasContext.clearRect(0, 0, canvas.width, canvas.height);
    canvasContext.drawImage(video, 0, 0,video.videoWidth, video.videoHeight);
//and finally replace this
    backgroundTexture = new THREE.Texture(video);
//with this
    backgroundTexture = new THREE.Texture(canvas);
