I am trying to learn C and have written a simple program that accepts the string from user and prints it. Would you loke to suggest me anything on my practices? I need to learn it very well. so please help me improving myself. Here goes my code:

Lots of stuff to improve upon, but a couple of suggestions for now:

First, doing anything in C char-by-char is tedious and error prone, and if you can avoid it you should. Generally I prefer fprintf to puts, and and readline or getline over getch.

Second, when using malloc, you should always pass it a factor of the size of the data type you are using.

e.g.

size_t counter = 0;
//then some stuff happens in your code and counter gets set to some value...say 24
char * charspace = (char *) malloc(sizeof(char)*counter); 
// charspace is now an array with space for 24 chars.

It's also a good practice to encapsulate your error checking inside a function so you don't have to keep worrying about it.

e.g.

void *emalloc(size_t n) {
void *p;
p = malloc(n);
if (p == NULL) {
    fprintf(stderr, "emalloc of %u bytes failed", (unsigned int) n);
    exit(1);
}
return p;
}
