I want a gui to display the values of my variables, so i can watch it working. The code below increments $counter but the label doesn't update like 'textvaraible' should. The problem is probably scoping, the thread works on a separate copy of the variable $counter, when you end the script the INT_handler prints 5, showing the original variable is unchanged.

So, whats the solution? A union of some kind? The shared variable doesn't seem to help, or I'm not using it right. Using 'our' or 'my' for the counter doesn't make a difference

One approach is to use Thread::Queue for this -- all threads will push (enqueue) info to the result queue and you will process it in the main code:

Answered my question

The assignment happens within the gui sub so that -textvariable works correctly
