Hey guys; havin' a problem with this code here; can't seem to work out whats goin' wrong with it. All other variables seem to print fine in the HTML ouput; but I get an error that relates to the cputype variable. I get the following error

C:\Users\Methical\Desktop\sysinfo.vbs(235,1) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Invalid procedure call or argument

I think it has somethin' to do with this line here

If i delete this line; the script compiles and outputs with no errors.

cputype is out of scope where you're trying to write it to html. It's first used inside of the select case statement, so it would be out of scope outside of that select statement.

Good practice would be to declare all of your variables explicitly and start your script out with option explicit and option strict to avoid this type of situation.

Cheers for your input David. I'm knew to .vbs, and don't know it all that well. I put this together from a few sources I found on the net; but couldn't get the cputype variable to display. I tried what you said; and put the option explicit at the top and then uses 'dim' to declare all the variables. Still get a blank field where the cputype should be displayed.. –  Methical Aug 2 '09 at 2:13
    
OK. Did you declare the variable at the beginning of the file? I have one more suggestion. At the end of your "Select Case" put in a Case Else and set the variable to something obvious like "I didn't think of this one" That way if there is not a match in any of the other case statements, you,ll catch it this way. –  David Stratton Aug 2 '09 at 15:04

I tried that; and still didn't work. Declared it @ the start, added the Case Else @ the end of the Select Case structure..
