I have a character is my game and some rounded squares with shapes made from Physics Editor. Right now I am doing a basic collision detection if the collision was made on the top of the rounded squares to achieve a one-sided platform effect. So when the collision is a collision from the top, I set the position of my character to be right on top of the platform. That is going good so far. Also I must point out that in my app I have the b2Body's following my CCSprite's because I only use Box2D for the collision detection.
However since the b2Body for the platform has rounded corners, the sprite is not always at the top of the platform. It can be a bit lower. So right now since I set it to just the top of the platform, what should I set the Y position of my character instead while he is on the rounded corner? I want to achieve the effect that while he is on the rounded corner, he is slipping down until the point where he falls off but if he is just on the normal top part of the platform he won't slip down and the character's Y position will just be set to the top part of the platform.
I know this sounds a little confusing but I would love to explain more about what I want to achieve. There must be some way to do this!
Any tips/advice/info would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I can make a diagram but let me ask this first, is it possible to get the Y position of a collision in Box2D? If I can get this position, I can easily make the collision work on all sides of a platform being flat or rounded and it will look really nice.
If not, I can make a diagram to further explain what I am trying to do. But getting the Y position of the collision is the easiest solution I think there is right now.
