combine matrix and sparse matrix

How can you add a 1-column matrix to a sparse matrix, or add a sparse matix to a column matrix (either way)? It shouldn't replace the data, just join it into one data type.

The sparse matrix:

How can you do this?

from the docs, it seems to me that you're looking for `hstack` / `vstack` from the `scipy.sparse` module:

Stack sparse matrices horizontally (column wise)

Parameters

by default an appropriate sparse matrix format is returned.
This choice is subject to change.

vstack : stack sparse matrices vertically (row wise)

Although the document here says `block` should be 'sequences of sparse matrices', it seems passing in mixed `numpy.array` and `scipy.sparse` is fine. The only side-effect is the output matrix format may not be the intended kind, should specify `format` to force format conversion. – zaxliu Sep 18 '15 at 9:59
