I need to extract the text from an xlsx file (to put into a full text index on a database). I am using the following code:

The examples I found on the web didn't mention the shared strings table - I found out about it when I realised that no string data was being output.

Are there any other gotchas I should know about?

There are some tricky parts to extracting actual data from cells. Sometimes it's stored there (numbers, dates, inline strings), sometimes it references SharedStringTable. I have browsed through quite bit of functions and this is what i came up with (some copied, some mine). You should be able to comfortably slide this into your code after
