I tried using https://gist.github.com/3026845 to validate app store receipts and it works great in 10.7. Unfortunately on 10.6 the app quits immediately after being run. No error dialogs at all. No App Store login dialog like I expect.

The author says it's for 10.7 but I'm not sure why it's failing on 10.6. My Xcode deployment is set for 10.6 and the compiler offers no warnings.

Any ideas? I've pasted the code below for reference.

I think it might have something to do with appStoreReceiptURL only existing on 10.7 (developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Cocoa/Reference/…). Not sure why Xcode isn't warning me then. My base SDK is 10.8. Should I set that to 10.6 as well? –  simon.d Sep 19 '12 at 1:11
    
What version of 10.6 are you on? This could be something that they added in one of patches, so make sure you have the latest (10.6.8, I think). And yes, set your base SDK to 10.6 if you want to target 10.6. –  Thilo Sep 19 '12 at 1:12
    
Yeah it's because appStoreReceiptURL is only on 10.7. Setting my base on 10.6 is a pain because it doesn't support ARC or modern Objective-C syntax. At least it tells me which methods aren't supported. –  simon.d Sep 19 '12 at 2:43
