Just installed the current Haskell Platform 2012.2.0.0, which says it uses base-, and base- includes the GHC.TypeLits module.

However, when I try to load GHC.TypeLits, ghc can't find it:

So what's going on? Am I wrong to assume that GHC.TypeLits should be available with the current Haskell Platform? Or am I skipping a step needed to make it available to me?

Something seems fishy with the documentation page you linked to. Your GHC claims to be 7.4.1, which does appear to use base-, and both the GHC library documentation and the Hackage page show base- as not including GHC.TypeLits. This is entirely reasonable, because GHC 7.4.1 doesn't support type literals, unlike GHC 7.6.1.

@rampion: I notice that the so-called base- you linked to seems to include other changes made in base- as well, such removing the Num constraint on Bits and exporting readEither and readMaybe. – C. A. McCann Sep 24 '12 at 15:27

Yes, the current Haskell Platform doesn't support type-level literals. They were added in GHC 7.6.

GHC.TypeLits is added from GHC 7.6 onwards.
