I developed and tested an application on my emulator that had an API of 4.1 (Jelly Bean). When I debug my application on my actual device, which is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it gives me in the logcat- Fatal signal 11 (SIGSEGV) at 0x00000000 (code=1), thread 4395. Can you help?

Well, is it not obvious now? You're allocating too much memory. It has nothing to do with SIGSEGV; that's just the way the process crashes once it runs out of memory. – nneonneo Sep 25 '12 at 2:40

If you are using ics with version 4.1.2 or higher, you can check the issue discussed here.

It is mensioned that the latest versions of android uses a different kind of a garbage collector that handles big data in a different way and that causes a fatal signal. I had the same issue on Samsung Galaxy SIII and solved by using smaller images. You may load the smaller sizes of images into the splash screen (I thought you are developing a baground images application or something like that).
