I am trying to embedded a jetty server in my program and it seems to hang after each thread gets to server one request. The test case code I wrote is:

I am using Jetty 6.1.26.

What is causing the server to hang?

EDIT: Adding a timeout like:

    SocketConnector connector = new SocketConnector();
    connector.setMaxIdleTime(1000);
    connector.setSoLingerTime(-1);
    connector.setPort(port);
    server.setConnectors(new Connector[] { connector });

seems to solve the problem, but I would like to understand what was going wrong in the first place.

For one thing: You don't need a new HttpClient, you can reuse it. I suspect your trouble is that the underlying connection isn't closed/released (cf. "Thread-5" prio=5 tid=1029d5800 nid=0x10a935000 runnable [10a934000])
