It’s a large 32 bits mixed mode MFC 7.0 app on XP, the user tells that he was using a feature which is implemented in managed code. The crach is in a thread that has acquired the LoaderLock, and seems to orgin from .NET workerthread pool.

It may (and I'm speculating) say that it's not a managed thread because it's in the process of exiting, and the CLR is in the process of detaching it. –  Steve Johnson Oct 11 '12 at 13:10

After ~16s;.cxr 0f66e884 check if ECX has been restored properly by checking that dd @ecx+0x78 L1 gives 000003a4 and that dd @ecx+7C L1 gives 000000df. If it does then see if dt mscorwks!Thread @ecx works. If not, then try dumping @ecx too see if there's a recognizable pattern by running dd @ecx L0x20. –  Marc Sherman Oct 11 '12 at 19:14

@Kjell - I meant that the thread is exiting, as indicated by kernel32!ExitThread on the stack. I realize that this doesn't help you diagnose the cause of the crash, but does explain the fact that you have a "not a managed thread" indication. –  Steve Johnson Oct 12 '12 at 1:24
