Your first action should be to use a debugger, and/or put strategic printf calls into your code... not to post your source code on StackOverflow and expect others to do it for you. – paddy Oct 14 '12 at 23:39

No way are we debugging that wall of code. Just invoking it with no args is undefined behavior and will likely seg-fault, and it only gets worse from there. – WhozCraig Oct 14 '12 at 23:42

You might consider installing a graphical debugger instead of posting bugs on stackoverflow (Nemiver is the best on linux )

Somewhere you're trying accessing memory that was not allocated to you. Look through your code for places in loops where you're iterating through an array & you go past the bounds of that array. Or places where you might be testing something that you don't have access to. Since you're working on the dining philosopher's problem & this is probably homework, I would suggest looking through your design & and pay attention to what everything is suppose to do. If you don't want to use a debugger (for instance if you're working with OS161 I don't blame you), but put some print statements in to find out where your program is giving you the seg fault.
